Maybe, that is the reason why many people are skeptical about such services and do not know which service provider would be the best option to opt for.

Digital Lens System

The Four Thirds System standard is an open standard that enables bodies and lenses produced by participating manufacturers to exchange information and be used interchangeably with one another.

Olympus and Panasonic announce a Micro Four Thirds System standard for digital camera with interchangeable lenses, aiming for significantly lighter and compact cameras.

Olympus and Panasonic already cooperate on their current four-thirds system cameras and lenses and the new smaller system aims at photographers put off by the size of some DSLRs. The boom in compact digital point and shoot cameras has reduced the market share of interchangeable lens (SLR type) cameras to 7% since the switch from film cameras.

Canon and Nikon dominate the digital camera market and the Olympus - Panasonic co-operative aim to create a new market niche for themselves. Rather than taking on the DSLR heavy weights they are attempting a flanking maneuver aimed at the super zoom fixed lens digital cameras. Olympus has a long history of producing compact SLR cameras beginning with the OM-1 back in 1972. Compact digital cameras offer an expanding range of features and performance, and market surveys indicate customers choose compact models because they find digital SLR cameras to be "big, heavy, and difficult to operate¡±.

One problem with fixed super zoom lenses is that they are stuck with a bulky lens all the time. The new four-thirds system allows more compact general-purpose lenses for convenience and compactness with the option of longer focal length zooms only when needed. The system still uses the same four-thirds digital sensor from the full size Olympus and Panasonic DSLR cameras to ensure the same high quality images.

The new micro four-thirds standard has a 6mm smaller outer diameter lens mount and halves the distance from the lens mount to the sensor, or flangeback distance. This significant reduction in the flangeback distance probably means there is no room for the traditional DSLR movable mirror. New cameras based on the micro four-thirds system will probably use electronic viewfinders or the LCD screen. The lack of a quality optical viewfinder system will not worry most prospective buyers, as the target market is photographers moving from compact digital cameras where the only view they get is on the LCD screen. Olympus and Panasonic cameras are industry leaders in features such as Live View and contrast-detection auto focusing systems for interchangeable lens type digital camera systems.

To give owners of the new system increased flexibility there will be an adaptor so full size four-thirds lenses are useable on the smaller lens mount. Future flexibility is also catered for with electrical contacts between the lens and camera body increasing in from 9 to 11. These are unused the moment but allow engineers to add additional functions as they are developed. We don¡¯t mention the digital camera flash here, but it is also important feather for a digital camera.

The compare between the Olympus and Panasonic will be useful to you to choose the right digital camera.

Purchase Guide of Digital Voice Recorder for First Time Buyer

In the market, there are lots of kinds of digital voice recorders, how to choose the right digital voice recorder? If you didn¡¯t buy a digital voice recorder before, you will be more confused on how to choose. In this article, we will share some information.

What will the recorder be used for?

The best way to narrow down the options and find a suitable voice recorder is to ask yourself what the recorder is going to be used for, in what kind of environment.  If there is more than one use, that is perfectly fine, many recorders on the market are flexible use devices, meaning they can be adjusted to suit a variety of environments and situations.  More flexibility can however mean an increase in the cost of the device.

Analog and Digital

In today's market place, there is no question that digital recording devices have arrived, in terms of affordability, functionality and ease of use.  With digital recorders, there are no damaged or misplaced tapes, and much less time is spent rewinding or fast-forwarding to find a particular spot in a recording.  Indexing functions on many professional models of recorders makes finding recordings even easier.  Most digital voice recorders have organizing systems built into the devices - folders that can store anywhere from 50 to 999 files.

A Word on Recording Time

Be sure to look closely at the higher-quality recording modes for more accurate record times.   Lower-quality record modes, while boasting a large number of recording hours, are often impractical especially for professional users (musicians, doctors, lawyers, conference recorders etc).  The best thing to do if a large number of recording hours is needed, is to buy a device with removable SD-memory cards, such as the Olympus DM series of digital voice recorders (DM-420 and DM-520).

Recording Formats

If you are using the digital voice recorders for podcasts, then having a device that can record in MP3 file format is especially important.  More general use recorders typically record in WMA, MP3 or both - but it is important to verify.  Certain professional models of Olympus digital voice recorders use a professional file format, DS2 or DSS.  For certain users, who Interface recorders with professional speech recognition programs and medical EMRs, this file format works fine.  Podcasters and more general users would find this file formatting problematic, as they would have to convert the file to MP3, adding an unnecessary layer of complexity to a dictation workflow.

A word on Brands

Many of our pro-line recorders have FREE one-year replacement warranties, and we provide free setup support for all of our products on-line. The Philips, Sony and Olympus recorders for sale on Recorders.com have been tested by our support team, and we are confident that you will be happy with the build quality, ease of use and durability of your purchase.

There are much things to consider when you are purchasing the digital voice recorder, and it is more important to know the features of different digital voice recorder for a new buyer of digital voice recorder.

How to Choose the Best Digital SLR

When you are thinking about purchasing a digital SLR, this article can help you on how to choose the best digital SLR. In this article, we will talk about what to consider when you are thinking of purchasing a digital SLR.

Starting at under a thousand dollars, high quality Digital SLR cameras are flooding the market. These consumer level cameras, which can take pictures comparable to the professional cameras of a few years ago, are in the hands of lay users. But is a DSLR the best choice for everyone?

You should consider about the camera size

The most obvious difference between a DSLR and the average point-and-shoot camera is size. Point-and-shoot compact cameras are a great size because they can go with a photographer just about anywhere. DSLRs, on the other hand, are quite bulky and cumbersome to carry. Besides the camera itself, photographers using a DSLR will want to carry extra lenses and accessories which add to the bulk. Would-be camera buyers need to consider whether the size of a DSLR will keep them from taking it along.

And you should consider the digital SLR features

Point and Shoot cameras carry their name appropriately. Their design makes them easy to point at a subject and shoot a great shot. Digital SLRs, especially modern ones, have great automatic features and can be set to a point and shoot mode similar to their smaller counterparts.

The big difference is that Digital SLR can also do much more. DSLR Photographers can fine tune their photos by adjusting things like shutter speed and aperture. Learning to use these features takes time and effort, however, so potential buyers should consider their commitment level before they purchase.

And what is more to consider is the digital SLR costs besides the digital camera flash

The digital SLR market has been doing quite well for a few years, so there are many well priced options for buyers. Competition keeps entry level cameras constantly gaining new features while maintaining prices under a thousand dollars. Most DSLR camera makers give buyers the option to purchase a camera body only or a body and kit lens combination.

Typically the kit lens covers an area similar to the average 3x zoom on a point and shoot. The kit lens, however, will not be enough for most photographers as they desire higher quality images or greater zoom range; the cost of additional lenses ranges from hundreds to thousands of dollars.

After have a think on the camera size, camera features and the costs, you should have some ideas on what you want and how to choose the best digital SLR for you.

Guide and Tips to Use Digital SLR-Understanding ISO and Stops

It's difficult to keep up with all the modern technology today, but here is a DSLR beginner's guide to help new photographers get started.

This is a continuation from a previous article which covered photography basics like shutter speed and aperture. This guide will continue with some next steps in learning to use a Digital SLR camera.

ISO for Digital Cameras

ISO is a term that was used to indicate different film speed on film cameras, and although there is no film in digital cameras, the effect on the final photograph is similar, so the same term is still used with digital cameras. For a basic understanding, know that the higher the ISO, the less light necessary to take a shot, but the quality of the photo will be reduced and look more grainy. 100 ISO is the typical starting range for a camera's capability, with numbers going up to 1600 and far beyond in today's modern cameras.

For consumer grade DSLRs most photos should be taken in the 100-400 range, because higher numbers will get noticeably grainier. However, for photographers wishing to take low light shots without a camera flash, using 800, 1600 or more can yield acceptable results. In recent years, DSLRs have seen vast improvement in image quality even at high ISOs. All DSLRs will produce better photos than point-and-shoot cameras because of the larger sensor size.

Stops: Putting Together Shutter Speed, Aperture and ISO

Putting the factors of shutter speed, aperture and ISO together makes an incremental scale indicated by "stops." Put as simply as possible, doubling one will mean another needs to be halved to keep the same exposure. Playing each of these factors up or down allows the photographer to get the right combination for their desired shot whether it is an action, landscape, portrait shot, etc.

With shutter speed and ISO, the numbers are straightforward and easy; 1/100th of a second is half 1/50th of a second and 400 ISO is double 200 ISO. With aperture things get more complicated. The aperture scale in full stops goes f1, f1.4, f2, f2.8, f4, f5.6, f8, f11, f16, f22, etc. This means that taking a picture on f4 will allow half as much light as the same picture on f2.8. Photographers wishing to make the most out of their photographic opportunities should learn how each of these, shutter speed, aperture and ISO effect each other.

Most DSLRs have a quick option called exposure compensation to toggle up or down stops, usually in 1/3 increments. This allows photographers to quickly make a photo darker or lighter depending on their preference.

Use A Little Flash to Make Nicer Photos

Portable camera flash units are great for improving photos, especially when they're used creatively. One of the most basic techniques for improved flash photography is to bounce.

"Bouncing" the light does several things to improve the quality of light in a photograph.

It causes the light to travel farther, spreading out in a wide pattern. This effectively makes the light source bigger, which helps make the light softer and more flattering.

It causes the light to reflect off of other surfaces lighting the subject from multiple directions and filling in shadows.

It helps reduce the likelihood of redeye, which is caused from light from a direct flash reflecting off the subject's eyes and bouncing back into the camera lens

Bounce Basics.

In order to bounce camera flash it's necessary to either have a flash with a bounce or bounce/swivel head or the ability to use the flash off camera. The most basic way of bouncing flash is to tilt the flash head up so it fires its light up at the ceiling and then bounces off it and falls on the subject.

It's important to make sure the surface the light is bouncing off is white, otherwise the light from the flash will pick up the color from the surface and throw a color cast over the subject.

If the entire scene is affected by the color cast it's possible to correct by setting a custom white balance or by correcting for the color cast in an image editing program such as Adobe PhotoShop.

Stay Close to the Subject

One drawback to bouncing the light from a portable flash unit is that because it has to travel a greater distance, the power of the light diminishes.

This means the flash has to work harder to produce enough light to expose for smaller lens openings. It also means the photographer has to take care to stay close enough to the subject to keep the light effective.

Depending on the power of the flash unit being used, the photographer may be limited to larger lens openings at any distance beyond five or 10 feet.

Bounce in Almost Any Direction

Flash can also be bounced off of side walls or even off walls that are behind the photographer so long as the light doesn't have to travel too far.

In each case the light produced by bouncing the flash will generally be superior to light from direct flash even though the power of the flash is diminished.

Be careful not to bounce the light off the floor because then the reflected light will be lighting the subject from below creating a type of lighting known as "ghoul" lighting (it was the lighting used for the old black and white monster movies).

Bounce lighting is so effective even studio photographers will frequently use it with powerful studio lights since it produces such a soft, even lighting.

How Hidden Voice Recorders Work

Do you know how hidden voice recorders work? In this article we will share the topic with you.

Transmitter

One of the simplest kinds of hidden digital audio recorder is a transmitter bug. A small microphone is hooked up to a radio transmitter. When someone speaks nearby, the sound is immediately converted to a radio signal. The whole thing is usually powered by a battery. Usually, there is a listening station nearby where the signal is turned back into sound and recorded.

Cellphone

You may not know it, but you may be carrying a sophisticated transmitter bug on you right now. Some modern cell phones can be activated by law enforcement officials without the knowledge of the user. When they are activated, the microphone acts like a bug, picking up all nearby sounds and sending them to a listening station. This sort of bug is much more sophisticated than classic transmitter bugs. It can broadcast over a much larger distance (anywhere where there is cellphone reception) and is undetectable.

Miniature Recorder

Many hidden digital audio recorder are simply digital recorders disguised to look like something else. A pen recorder, for example, would look exactly like a pen and even be able to write. The spy would place it near to his target and turn it on with a hidden button. A small microphone would then record the conversation digitally on a microchip. When the spy was done, he could download the memory into a computer and recharge the pen's batteries.

For Best Results

Although all of the above-mentioned security devices work, they all have a flaw. If the microphone is out of position, it will not get the info you want. Miniature microphones often have poor quality, and only pick up sound at certain angles or beyond a certain range. The best way to bug a room is with a more low-tech solution: high-quality, conventional microphones which have been carefully hidden.

Microphones can be built into the wall, hidden inside books, or even installed in appliances. By carefully preparing a room ahead of time, a spy can be sure that every corner is covered by the recording equipment.

How Digital Video Recorder Works

If you have a digital voice recorder and use it in your daily life, it can be a great helper to you, then, you may want to know how does the digital voice recorder work. In this article, we will share this point.

On-Screen Guide

Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) come with an on-screen guide that users can control with a designated remote control. When users turn on their TV and DVR, the on-screen guide will typically display what is playing on each channel and what programs will be shown in the next hours or even days. Users can often view information and reviews of programs. But, in addition, DVRs provide a "Record" option in the on-screen guide, which allows users to select programs to save for later viewings.

Recording Shows

After a user selects a show to save on a Digital Video Recorder, the DVR adds the command to its internal list of scheduled recordings and checks for any time conflicts. Then when the designated program is about to begin, the DVR enters record mode and saves the program's video and audio onto its hard drive, which is located within the DVR's casing. DVRs save shows in the same way that VCRs do, except VCRs record programs to cassettes while DVRs save data onto a typical hard drive found in any computer.

Playback

After a selected show has finished recording and has been successfully saved to the DVR's hard drive, the DVR adds the program to its list of saved shows on the on-screen guide. To watch a saved program, users navigate to the main DVR menu and select a show to watch with their remote. The DVR will then locate the designated file on its hard drive and begin to play the program from its beginning, allowing the user to pause, rewind or fast-forward. From the main DVR menu, users can also choose to delete older shows from the DVR's hard drive to create more available space.

What are your brand and the model of your digital voice recorder and how does your digital voice recorder work? Maybe you have got some understanding of this question now.

How to Use Digital Voice Recorders

If you are a new user of digital voice recorder, you may only use it to recorder voice from the lecture, class and so on. Actually, besides the function of recording your lecture and class, the digital voice recorder can be used as following.

Improve Your Singing

You can't hear yourself sing, but you can use a digital voice recorder to record your singing, and then play it back to hear whether you're right on pitch or need to make some vocal improvements. You can also use digital voice recorders to record music lessons and play them back at your convenience to review something the instructor said. You can even use a recorder to make an auditory record of your musical improvement, documenting early efforts and comparing your improvement over time. You should invest in a high-quality recorder for music, as some don't have the fidelity to reliably reproduce sounds outside of the vocal range.

If acting's your thing, you can use a recorder to learn your lines. Simply record your cues and leave enough time for your lines. Standup comics often use digital recorders to document their performances, which helps to save those spur-of-the-moment jokes and gauge how well the audience reacts to material.

Spice up a Halloween Party

Need to disguise your voice or want to create spooky sound clips? You can use digital voice recorders to record yourself saying something normally, and then download the audio files to your computer. From there, you can utilize voice-altering software to change the sound of your voice to create spooky sound clips or even make yourself sound like someone else entirely.

Create an Audio Diary

Don't have time to write long diary entries, or have illegible handwriting? Use a digital voice recorder to dictate audio diary entries on the go. You'll be able to download them to your computer and index them or burn them to CD or an external drive for long-term storage. With audio diaries, not only can you see your thoughts but you can actually hear your voice as you speak them, getting valuable inflections and emotion that you'd miss in writing. You can also use voice-recognition software to transcribe your recordings into written words.

Create Memories

You can record your children or grandchildren and transfer the files to your computer to save for future playback. You can use these audio files later to create touching montages or simply embarrass your erstwhile progeny; especially if you catch them singing. Using digital voice recorders to capture your young kids and grandkids as they grow up is a unique way to create precious memories.

Explore the Spirit World

With the increasing popularity of ghost-hunting television shows, the interest in paranormal investigation is growing. Paranormal investigators actually use digital voice recorders to capture evidence of otherworldly events. Whether capturing unexplainable auditory phenomena or the elusive Electronic Voice Phenomena, digital voice recorders preserve evidence that investigators can later analyze and use to validate the existence of paranormal activity.

Did you use your digital voice recorder to do these tasks, or you only use it to record lecture and class? You can have a try and make your digital more functional, you will find that, a digital voice recorder can be so fantastic and it will bring more fun to you.
